Also known as Rock beach, Promenade beach is the major beachfront of Puducherry along the Bay of Bengal. It is a long 1.2 km stretch area starting from War Memorial and finally ends at Duplex Park. Some beautiful attributes that make this beach a wonderful place to visit are its center-built pillars, its morning walk and sunrise moments, and also watching the moon rise up like a little ball of light late in the evening.
Paradise Beach Island
Paradise Beach Island is also known as Plage Paradiso. It is located in Chunnambar, near to the outskirts of the main town area. It’s a beautiful place with golden sand all around and the cold sea breeze blazing through your faces feels utmost soothing. It’s a bit isolated beach and hence is one of the quiet places of the town. To reach here you need to take a ferry from the backwaters which takes you to the beach in about half an hour. The unique thing about this beach is its sand. It’s so grainy and soft that if you walk barren foot on it, it gives the most calming effect to the body.
Sri Aurobindo Ashram
It’s a spiritual community place in Puducherry. It was started by a few disciples of Sri Aurobindo in 1910 and today it is one of the biggest spiritual community places in the country. It has expanded exponentially in the past few years. As of today, there are at-least 400 buildings belonging to the ashram. It’s a wonderful and informative experience to visit a place like this.
